December 1, 2015
After careful consideration by our founders and Board of Directors, we've made the difficult decision to dissolve The Queen of Hearts Foundation as of December 31, 2015.
As The Queen of Hearts founder, I make this announcement with a tear in my eye and a proud smile on my face. When our group started this nonprofit back in 2003, we never dreamed we'd attract so much generous support or be able to help so many people in the cancer and organ donor communities. Through the hard work and dedication of The Queen of Hearts Board of Directors and all the wonderful people who supported our mission, we've given financial assistance to more than 200 local families and nonprofit organizations. That is incredible, and you helped make it possible.
The past thirteen years have been an amazing ride, and I'm so thankful and blessed to have been a part of it. But we started The Queen of Hearts knowing it couldn't last forever. We may be closing this chapter, but we're moving on to new beginnings, new challenges, and new ways to give back to the community.
Thank you again for your love, support, and generosity over the past thirteen years. We'll miss our luaus, our purse parties, and our dances--but most of all, we'll miss all of you. I cherish the memories we've made together, and I'll hold The Queen of Hearts in my heart forever.
With love and appreciation,
Marjorie, Anthony, and The Queen of Hearts Board of Directors
